BACKGROUND: This study aimed to assess the acceptability and attitudes of women towards human papillomavirus (HPV) self-sampling and compare the effectiveness of two delivery modes utilising face-to-face and online website for cervical cancer screening in Hong Kong. METHODS: Women aged 30-65 years were invited to participate by distributing the study information pamphlets at the specialist clinics of a regional acute hospital. Those who were interested in participating were given the option to join directly face-to-face or through an online website. All participants provided informed consent and received self-sampling kits and acceptability questionnaires either immediately (face-to-face) or through the post after registering at the website (online). All participants were requested to collect their own vaginal samples using a swab which was then brushed on a DNA sample storage card and returned to the hospital either in person or by post. The self-collected samples were tested for high-risk HPV using the Sentis™ HPV assay, a validated isothermal nucleic acid amplification real-time fluorescent detection assay. The primary outcome was the uptake rate of HPV self-sampling. RESULTS: Of the 1998 women recruited (1200 face-to-face, 798 online), 1377 returned their samples, giving an overall uptake rate of 68.9%. The uptake rate was significantly greater in the face-to-face mode than in the online mode (74.6% vs. 60.4%, p < 0.001). The median age of the participants was 49 years, 43.7% were never or under-screened, and 7.1% had high-risk HPV detected. Overall, 82.1% of the participants reported self-sampling convenient, and 79.3% were not embarrassed when collecting self-samples. However, only 49.8% were confident that they had collected the self-samples correctly. Most (91.1%) of the participants expressed willingness to perform self-sampling again, mostly because it was simple (79.2%) and quick (56.3%). CONCLUSIONS: HPV self-sampling can serve as an alternative primary screening method for cervical cancer in Hong Kong, especially for individuals who have not been adequately screened in the past. Both face-to-face and online website recruitment were associated with high acceptability, emphasising the potential benefits of utilising different platforms and strategies for reaching diverse populations.

PURPOSE: To determine the correlation between HPV (human papillomavirus) 52 viral load, multiple infections and ThinPrep cytology test (TCT), to inform clinical management of HPV52-positive women after cervical cancer screening. METHODS: A total of 1,882 female patients who had positive quantitative HPV tests at Yuebei People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022, of whom 533 tested positive for HPV52. We excluded patients who combined HPV16 and/or HPV 18 positivity and whom HPV52 viral load could not be calculated. The final enrollment was 488 patients, including 400 NILM, 48 ASC-US, 28 LSIL and 12 HSIL. The HPV test is a quantitative multiplexed fluorescent PCR assay that provides both HPV genotyping and viral load. RESULTS: In our study, there were differences in the median distribution of viral loads among various cytological class categories. The risk of TCT results (LSIL or worse) was increased with the increase of HPV52 viral load, for every LOG unit increase in HPV52 viral load, the risk increased by 26.6%. More importantly, we found a nonlinear relationship between HPV52 viral load and TCT results (LSIL or worse) in both single and multiple infections. When the viral load reaches a threshold, the risk of abnormal cytological results increases significantly. CONCLUSION: HPV52 viral load is an independent risk factor for TCT results (LSIL or worse). The relationship between HPV52 viral load and TCT results (LSIL or worse) is not linear. Viral load may be used as a triage indicator for HPV52-positive patients, thus improving the post-screening clinical management of HPV52-positive women.

INTRODUÇÃO: Evidências científicas robustas indicam que o rastreamento com testes moleculares para detecção de HPV oncogênico é mais sensível, eficaz/efetivo e eficiente, em termos do aumento de detecção de lesões precursoras e da redução da incidência e mortalidade por CCU, do que o rastreio com exame citopatológico. Outro aspecto fundamental é a maior detecção de casos de CCU em estágio inicial, precedendo em até 10 anos o diagnóstico pelo exame citopatológico. A detecção precoce leva a tratamentos menos mutilantes e onerosos, com excelente prognóstico e até com possibilidade de cura, impactando positivamente a custo-efetividade do rastreamento. Ademais, por apresentarem maior sensibilidade e valor preditivo negativo (VPN), quando comparados à citologia, os testes para detecção de HPV de alto risco permitem o aumento da idade de início do rastreio e do intervalo de testagem, melhorando a eficiência e otimizando o desempenho dos programas. The previous research has found that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the main cause of cervical cancer, but it is still unclear whether HPV infection, as well as the HPV genotypes, are related to reproductive tract infections in the Chinese population. Patients who underwent HPV screening at Shandong Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected, and the HPV infection status was analyzed among patients with cervical lesions, bacterial vaginosis, cervical inflammation, fungal vaginitis, and pelvic infections. SPSS 22 statistical analysis was used to analyze the differences in HPV infection types and rates between the control group and the experimental group. The HPV infection rate of bacterial vaginosis (χ2 = 13.4; P < .001) and fungal vaginitis (χ2 = 3.3; P < .045) are both significantly different from the control group. The single HPV infections reveals significant differences from control group in bacterial vaginosis (χ2 = 7.3; P = .004), fungal vaginitis (χ2 = 4.5; P = .023), and cervical lesions (χ2 = 58.8; P < .001). In the bacterial infection group, HPV51 (1.9%; χ2 = 6.0; P = .008) and HPV58 (4.7%; χ2 = 3.3; P = .044) showed significant differences in infection compared to the control group. In the fungal infection group, HPV39 (2.7%; χ2 = 4.7; P = .032) showed a significant difference in infection compared to the control group. Cervical lesions, bacterial vaginosis, fungal vaginitis, and cervical lesions among Chinese population exhibit age-specified distribution. HPV infection rate in bacterial vaginitis, fungal vaginitis and cervical lesions was higher than that in normal group. HPV52 and HPV16 infection are different, and HPV39 is different between bacterial vaginitis and fungal vaginitis.

Objective To determine the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in the oral mucosa of blood donors (BD) and risk factors associated with HPV and oral cancer. Materials and methods Prospective cross-sectional study, population matched to BD from the National Cancer Institute, Mexico for HPV identification in oral cytological samples using the CLART® Human Papillomavirus 2 Kit (35 genotypes) and risk factors. Results Of 352 BD with signed informed consent, 285 were selected by simple randomization. The prevalence of oral HPV was 17.5% (95% CI 13–21.9%), the genotype was identified in 13 cases, with a total of 16 genotypes (10 high-risk), the most common being 16 and 84. Five cases had multiple infections, three with at least one high-risk type. Associations were found for marital status (OR 3.3) and educational level (OR-1.9). Conclusions The percentage of HPV-positive cases in blood donors with no risk practices was similar to that found in Spanish-speaking population studies in which at least one risk practice was described. The presence of other genotypes with high oncogenic risk and multitype infection, described as a marker of persistence of HPV infection, is highlighted (AU)


Objetivo Identificar la presencia del virus del papiloma humano (VPH) en la mucosa oral de donantes de sangre (DS), así como los factores de riesgo relacionados con el VPH y el cáncer oral. Materiales y métodos Estudio transversal prospectivo. La población correspondió a los DS del Instituto Nacional de Cancerología, México, para la identificación de VPH en muestras citológicas orales con el kit CLART® Human Papillomavirus 2 (35 genotipos) y factores de riesgo. Resultados De 352 DS con firma de consentimiento informado, se seleccionaron 285 por aleatorización simple. La prevalencia de VPH oral fue del 17,5% (IC 95%: 13-21,9%); en 13 casos se identificó el genotipo, con un total de 16 genotipos (10 de alto riesgo), los más frecuentes el 16 y el 84. Cinco casos presentaron infección multitipo, 3 con al menos un tipo de alto riesgo. Las asociaciones encontradas fueron para el estado civil (OR 3,3) y el nivel de estudios (OR 1,9). Conclusiones El porcentaje de casos positivos para VPH en DS sin prácticas de riesgo fue similar a los hallazgos en estudios de población hispanohablante en los que se ha descrito al menos una práctica de riesgo. Se destaca la presencia de otros genotipos con alto riesgo oncogénico y la infección multitipo descrita como marcador de persistencia de la infección por VPH (AU)

BACKGROUND: Cervical cancer is a preventable disease. This study aimed to share the results of the national cervical cancer screening program performed in primary health care institutions in Samsun between 2015 and 2019. METHODS: Women aged 30-65 years who were screened for cervical cancer in screening centers of Samsun between January 01, 2015, and December 31, 2019, were included in this descriptive study. The data were obtained from the automation program of the "National Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Laboratory Application" used by the Provincial Directorate of Health Cancer Unit through filtering the completion time of the tests, and all results were evaluated without sampling. Thus, data were presented using descriptive statistics. RESULTS: The mean age of 89,302 women included in the cervical cancer screening program was 45.9 ± 9.0 years. Of the samples obtained from the participants, 1.0% were determined as insufficient material, 94.1% as HPV-negative, and 4.9% as HPV-positive. The most common HPV genotypes were 16, 51, 31, and 52. Of the 4337 HPV-positive women, 74.7% of the pap smear results were negative (including infection, 36.5%), and the most common premalignant lesions were atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance in 7.1% and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions in 6.9%. HPV 16/18 was also observed in 31.7% of HPV-positive women. Seven hundred ninety-five women were referred to a specialist physician for further examination and treatment within the scope of the screening algorithm. CONCLUSION: Detecting HPV-positivity by reaching more women within the national cervical cancer screening program's scope is vital in fighting against this disease. The effectiveness of cancer screening programs should be increased by ensuring community participation through awareness activities.

HPV testing as a "test of cure" (TOC) of women treated for cervical high-grade lesions can support and inform appropriate clinical management pathways. However, there is a lack of studies that report the discrete performance of different HPV assays in this context, including HPV mRNA based assays. To address this, we performed an analysis of the clinical performance of two hrHPV assays in the (TOC) setting; the recently launched DNA based Alinity m HR HPV (Abbott Molecular) and RNA based Aptima HPV assay (Hologic). Using a retrospective case-control design, two panels of archived cervical liquid based cytology samples, originally taken as per routine TOC protocols in Scotland were assessed. Each panel contained 63 cases, where cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2 or worse (CIN2+) was detected and 160 controls (women with no CIN2+ and two subsequent cytology negative results (minimum) 3 years apart or women who had histologically confirmed ≤CIN1). All samples were previously tested using the RealTime High Risk HPV assay (Abbott Molecular) as per national TOC protocol. Panel A and Panel B were tested using Alinity and Aptima assay respectively. Both assays showed similar performance to the original RealTime assay. Aptima had sensitivity for CIN2+ of 96.8% (95% CI: 89.0- 99.6) compared to RealTime (93.7% (95% CI: 84.5 - 98.2)). Alinity had sensitivity for CIN2+ of 92.1% (95% CI: 82.4- 97.4) compared to RealTime (98.4% (95% CI: 91.5- 99.95)). Both mRNA based and DNA based HPV tests show robust performance for the monitoring of residual disease post-treatment.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most frequent etiological agent sexually transmitted. In the context of the immune response, NF-kB pathway plays an important role controlling the expression of several genes essential to cellular activity and structural and/or functional changes in components of this pathway can promote the development of several tumors. Thus, the study purpose was to evaluate the influence of NFKB1 rs28362491 and NFKBIA rs696 genetic variants on HPV infection and cervical lesions development. In this study 334 patients were recruited, of whom 48.8% (n = 163) were HPV infected, and considered our case group. HPV-DNA was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the genetic variants were assessed in blood cells and tumor tissues paraffin embedded samples through restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. Among women who were recruited for this study who were infected, 37.4% presented precursor lesions and 16.8% were diagnosed with cervical cancer (CC). The present study did not observe significant effects of the interaction between such genetic variants on HPV infection, nor on the development of lesions and progression to CC. Further studies will be important to investigate if under some circumstance the NFKB1 rs28362491 and NFKBIA rs696 genetic variants influence the progression of HPV-associated lesions.

Several countries have implemented primary human papillomavirus (HPV) testing for cervical cancer screening. HPV testing enables home-based, self-collected sampling (self-sampling), which provides similar diagnostic accuracy as clinician-collected samples. We evaluated the impact and cost-effectiveness of switching an entire organized screening program to primary HPV self-sampling among cohorts of HPV vaccinated and unvaccinated Norwegian women. We conducted a model-based analysis to project long-term health and economic outcomes for birth cohorts with different HPV vaccine exposure, that is, preadolescent vaccination (2000- and 2008-cohorts), multiage cohort vaccination (1991-cohort) or no vaccination (1985-cohort). We compared the cost-effectiveness of switching current guidelines with clinician-collected HPV testing to HPV self-sampling for these cohorts and considered an additional 44 strategies involving either HPV self-sampling or clinician-collected HPV testing at different screening frequencies for the 2000- and 2008-cohorts. Given Norwegian benchmarks for cost-effectiveness, we considered a strategy with an additional cost per quality-adjusted life-year below $55 000 as cost-effective. HPV self-sampling strategies considerably reduced screening costs (ie, by 24%-40% across cohorts and alternative strategies) and were more cost-effective than clinician-collected HPV testing. For cohorts offered preadolescent vaccination, cost-effective strategies involved HPV self-sampling three times (2000-cohort) and twice (2008-cohort) per lifetime. In conclusion, we found that switching from clinician-collected to self-collected HPV testing in cervical screening may be cost-effective among both highly vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts of Norwegian women.

PURPOSE: Definitive or postoperative chemoradiation (CRT) is curative for human papillomavirus-associated (HPV+) oropharynx cancer (OPC) but induces significant toxicity. As a deintensification strategy, we studied primary transoral surgery (TOS) and reduced postoperative radiation therapy (RT) in intermediate-risk HPV+ OPC. METHODS: E3311 is a phase II randomized trial of reduced- or standard-dose postoperative RT for resected stage III-IVa (American Joint Committee on Cancer-seventh edition) HPV+ OPC, determined by pathologic parameters. Primary goals were feasibility of prospective multi-institutional study of TOS for HPV+ OPC, and oncologic efficacy (2-year progression-free survival) of TOS and adjuvant therapy in intermediate-risk patients after resection. TOS plus 50 Gy was considered promising if the lower limit of the exact 90% binomial confidence intervals exceeded 85%. Quality of life and swallowing were measured by functional assessment of cancer therapy-head and neck and MD Anderson Dysphagia Index. RESULTS: Credentialed surgeons performed TOS for 495 patients. Eligible and treated patients were assigned as follows: arm A (low risk, n = 38) enrolled 11%, intermediate risk arms B (50 Gy, n = 100) or C (60 Gy, n = 108) randomly allocated 58%, and arm D (high risk, n = 113) enrolled 31%. With a median 35.2-month follow-up for 359 evaluable (eligible and treated) patients, 2-year progression-free survival Kaplan-Meier estimate is 96.9% (90% CI, 91.9 to 100) for arm A (observation), 94.9% (90% CI, 91.3 to 98.6]) for arm B (50 Gy), 96.0% (90% CI, 92.8 to 99.3) for arm C (60 Gy), and 90.7% (90% CI, 86.2 to 95.4) for arm D (66 Gy plus weekly cisplatin). Treatment arm distribution and oncologic outcome for ineligible or step 2 untreated patients (n = 136) mirrored the 359 evaluable patients. Exploratory comparison of functional assessment of cancer therapy-head and neck total scores between arms B and C is presented. CONCLUSION: Primary TOS and reduced postoperative RT result in outstanding oncologic outcome and favorable functional outcomes in intermediate-risk HPV+ OPC.

BACKGROUND: Twenty percent of women referred to colposcopy have a type 3 transformation zone-where colposcopic assessment for high-grade dysplasia (CIN2+) is not possible. This study examines the effectiveness of HPV biomarkers and genotyping in combination with techniques that sample an endocervical TZ. METHODS: A prospective diagnostic accuracy study. Women booked for large-loop excision (LLETZ) with squamous dyskaryosis, high-risk HPV and a TZ3 were recruited. Immediately prior to LLETZ samples were collected for p16/Ki-67 dual-stained cytology, HPV genotyping and H&E, p16- and Ki-67-stained endocervical curettings. RESULTS: In women with low-grade screening (n = 64), 35.9% had CIN2+; dual-stained cytology had the greatest effect on the PPV of routine screening (76.1% vs 35.9%) and perfectly predicted the absence of CIN2+. In women with a high-grade screening result (n = 37); 75.6% had CIN2+ and dual-stained curettings improved the PPV (96.5 vs 75.6%). CONCLUSIONS: With high-grade screening and a TZ3, LLETZ appears safest as three quarters have CIN2+ . Women with low-grade screening and a TZ3 have a twofold increased risk of CIN2+ when compared to women where the TZ is visible. The use of dual-stained cytology may help identify those women who can be safely offered surveillance and those who require treatment.

AIM: High risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is an infectious pathogen implicated in a variety of cancers with poor clinical outcome. The mechanism of HPV induced cellular transformation and its intervention remains to be elucidated. Human ADA3 (hADA3), a cellular target of HPV16 E6, is an essential and conserved component of the ADA transcriptional coactivator complex. High risk HPV-E6 binds and functionally inactivates hADA3 to initiate oncogenesis. The aim of this study was to identify the interaction interface between hADA3 and HPV16E6 for designing inhibitory peptides that can potentially disrupt the hADA3-E6 interaction. MATERIAL METHODS: The present investigation employed structure-based in silico tools supported by biochemical validation, in vivo interaction studies and analysis of posttranslational modifications. KEY FINDINGS: First 3D-model of hADA3 was proposed and domains involved in the oncogenic interaction between hADA3 and HPV16E6 were delineated. Rationally designed peptide disrupted hADA3-E6 interaction and impeded malignant properties of cervical cancer cells. SIGNIFICANCE: Intervention of hADA3-E6 interaction thus promises to be a potential strategy to combat HPV induced oncogenic conditions like cervical cancer. The investigation provides mechanistic insights into HPV pathogenesis and shows promise in developing novel therapeutics to treat HPV induced cancers.

There is limited access to effective cervical cancer screening programs in many resource-limited settings, resulting in continued high cervical cancer burden. Human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is increasingly recognized to be the preferable primary screening approach if affordable due to superior long-term reassurance when negative and adaptability to self-sampling. Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) is an inexpensive but subjective and inaccurate method widely used in resource-limited settings, either for primary screening or for triage of HPV-positive individuals. A deep learning (DL)-based automated visual evaluation (AVE) of cervical images has been developed to help improve the accuracy and reproducibility of VIA as assistive technology. However, like any new clinical technology, rigorous evaluation and proof of clinical effectiveness are required before AVE is implemented widely. In the current article, we outline essential clinical and technical considerations involved in building a validated DL-based AVE tool for broad use as a clinical test.

Biomarkers with relevance for loco-regional therapy are needed in human papillomavirus negative aka HPV(-) head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Based on the premise that DNA methylation pattern is highly conserved, we sought to develop a reliable and robust methylome-based classifier identifying HPV(-) HNSCC patients at risk for loco-regional recurrence (LR) and all-event progression after postoperative radiochemotherapy (PORT-C). The training cohort consisted of HPV-DNA negative HNSCC patients (n = 128) homogeneously treated with PORT-C in frame of the German Cancer Consortium-Radiation Oncology Group (DKTK-ROG) multicenter biomarker trial. DNA Methylation analysis was performed using Illumina 450 K and 850 K-EPIC microarray technology. The performance of the classifier was integrated with a series of biomarkers studied in the training set namely hypoxia-, 5-microRNA (5-miR), stem-cell gene-expression signatures and immunohistochemistry (IHC)-based immunological characterization of tumors (CD3/CD8/PD-L1/PD1). Validation occurred in an independent cohort of HPV(-) HNSCC patients, pooled from two German centers (n = 125). We identified a 38-methylation probe-based HPV(-) Independent Classifier of disease Recurrence (HICR) with high prognostic value for LR, distant metastasis and overall survival (P < 10-9 ). HICR remained significant after multivariate analysis adjusting for anatomical site, lymph node extracapsular extension (ECE) and size (T-stage). HICR high-risk tumors were enriched for younger patients with hypoxic tumors (15-gene signature) and elevated 5-miR score. After adjustment for hypoxia and 5-miR covariates, HICR maintained predicting all endpoints. HICR provides a novel mean for assessing the risk of LR in HPV(-) HNSCC patients treated with PORT-C and opens a new opportunity for biomarker-assisted stratification and therapy adaptation in these patients.

To analyze the distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) genotype, cytology, and the clinical characteristics of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN). All patients with histological-proven VaIN at West China Second University Hospital, between January 1, 2014, and October 1, 2020, were retrospectively identified. The demographics, medical history, HPV genotype, viral load, and cytology results were retrieved. Standard statistical analyses were conducted. Of 3229 patients included, 42.3% were diagnosed with VaIN 1, 30.3% with VaIN 2% and 27.4% with VaIN 3. Patients with VaIN 3 were the oldest (p < 0.001). The leading HPV genotypes were HPV 16, 52, 58, 53, 56 and 81. The positive rate of HPV 16 was positively correlated with the grade of VaIN and infected most VaIN 3 patients (76.0%). The sensitivities of cytology for VaIN only, concomitant VaIN, and VaIN after hysterectomy were 75.6%, 78.8%, and 82.9%, respectively (p = 0.013), and the sensitivities of HPV were 91.1%, 93.5%, and 91.7%, respectively (p = 0.205). Cotesting improved the sensitivities, up to 96.9%, 97.1%, and 98.1%, respectively. VaIN can occur alone or be concomitant with cervical or vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia. Most of those with VaIN 2/3 are infected with HPV 16. The sensitivity of cytology and HPV testing is non-inferior to that of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2+. Therefore, these testings might be helpful in the early detection of VaIN.

BACKGROUND: The prognosis of squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck (HNSCC) patients remains relatively poor over the last years. Tobacco, alcohol and active human papillomavirus (HPV) infection are involved in HNSCC development. Akt is a serine-threonine protein kinase with main phosphorylation sites at Thr308 and Ser473, which are critical to generate a high level of Akt activity. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The aim of the study was to compare the expression and prognostic potential of total Akt and its 2 phosphorylated forms - pAkt(Ser473) and pAkt(Thr308) in relation to HPV status in HNSCC patients. The expression levels of proteins were assessed immunohistochemically. To select independent prognostic factors univariate and multivariate analyses with Cox proportional regression model were performed. RESULTS: Among HNSCC with active HPV16 infection significantly more tumors with high Akt (67.86%, p = 0.026) and low pAkt(Ser473) (64.29%, p = 0.000) expressions were found as compared to those with HPV negativity, while there was no significant difference in the pAkt(Thr308) expression level between HPV positive and negative tumors (p = 0.359). In the whole group of HNSCC patients independent favorable prognostic factors were low T stage, low pAkt(Thr308) expression, HPV16 active infection presence (for OS and DFS) and female gender (for OS only). CONCLUSIONS: Our results indicate an important role of pAkt(Thr308) as prognostic biomarker for HNSCC patients. There is a high probability that using Akt inhibitors would improve therapeutical benefits and treatment effectiveness, especially in HNSCC patients with high expression of pAkt.

OBJECTIVE: High-grade cervical lesions (HSIL) are associated with the presence of high-risk HPV types, tissue expression of p16, and increased chance of malignant progression, requiring surgical intervention. To improve risk evaluation, we assessed the discriminatory power of the histological findings associated with p16 immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining to classify the low-grade cervical lesion (LSIL) and HSIL. METHODS: We collected cervical biopsies from colposcopy-visible lesions and non-affected tissue (adjacent to the lesions) of 62 Brazilian women and labeled them with anti-p16 antibodies. In addition to the observational pattern and labeling to define the latent classes (affected vs. non-affected), a computational tool was used for semi-quantitative analysis of p16 expression. The intensity of staining of the nucleus or cytoplasm was captured using the Gimp 2.10 software. ROC curves were used to determine cutoff values for p16 expression in patients classified as LSIL and HSIL by latent class statistics for each labeling stratum. RESULTS: p16 nuclear labeling showed the best sensitivity and specificity to discriminate LSIL with low p16 expression (62%) and HSIL with high p16 expression (37%). Many patients whose lesions had intermediate levels of p16 nuclear staining were subsequently stratified according to the expression of p16 in the cytoplasm, indicating that five of 21 LSIL were at risk of progression, and 13 of 41 HSIL at risk of regression. CONCLUSIONS: We suggest a hierarchical analysis, with histology at the first level, followed by a labeling analysis in the nucleus and then in the cytoplasm to increase the accuracy of the HPV cervical lesion stratification.
